We've been so busy that we completely forgot that ServiceDeskUsers turned 2 on February 5th. We have achieved the following in the past 2 years:
In the past year we have averaged over 50 new members each month. |
In a little over 16 months of existence the SDU membership has reached 1500. In the time it has taken to reach this new milestone, SDU has amassed 13,638 forum posts, 463,629 forum views, 193 wiki pages, and 276 LinkedIn members. I would like to thank everyone for their participation on this site and for making SDU huge success that it is. Lets see how long it takes to get the next 1500 members. |

The SDU community has surpassed 10,000 forum posts. That's an average of 26 posts per day, which includes weekends and holidays. That's pretty impressive for only being 1 year and 2 weeks old. Thank you to everyone who has participated in our forums, and especially the moderators and frequent contributors who generously give their time and expertise to help out others and keep this community thriving. Lets see if we can reach 20,000 in less time.

In celebration of a successful first year, SDU is pleased to announce the availability of an Enhancement Pack (EP1) for Service Desk r12. EP1 contains all the scripts, files, and instructions needed to add 5 commonly implemented customizations to an r12 install. Click here for details |
A few customizations having to do with canceling an Attached Event have been updated with a minor code change that makes the process run more efficiently. The previous scripts attempted to cancel all the instances of a specific event on a ticket, even if the instance had already been completed or canceled. While the end result of this update is still the same, the previously canceled or completed events will now be excluded from the process. The following articles have been changed: Automatically Remove Attached Events and Send Notification at Callback Time. |
We made it! In less than 10 months the SDU community has grown to 1000 members and reached our goal of 1000 by World. Thank you to everyone for helping to spread the word and making SDU the most active site for Service Desk.

With the introduction of CA's new Service Desk Manager Suite and the anticipated arrival of r12, we have made a few changes to the SDU forums. A few moves, a few renames, and a few additions. Among the additions are forums dedicated to CMDB, Live Automation, and BOXI.

The Propagate Status to Children article has been update to correct a bug where the original parent status was being recorded in the Activity log of the children instead of the original child status.

To better serve the user community, SDU and @ServiceDay (the European Service Desk Forum) have combined efforts. The knowledge compiled on @ServiceDay has been added to the SDU Wiki, and the website is now offline. Former @ServiceDay members are encouraged to utilize SDU for their forum needs as well as other site offerings, such as the Wiki, Calendar, and member-to-member messaging. |
