r12 available for download
The GA release of CA Service Desk r12 and its supporting documentation is now available for downloading. The product is not officially released until hardcopies can be distributed, so those still running version 6.0 SP1 through r11.1 probably have a couple weeks left of support. For more details, see CA's End-of-Support Announcement.

Significant Update to a couple Articles
A few customizations having to do with canceling an Attached Event have been updated with a minor code change that makes the process run more efficiently. The previous scripts attempted to cancel all the instances of a specific event on a ticket, even if the instance had already been completed or canceled. While the end result of this update is still the same, the previously canceled or completed events will now be excluded from the process. The following articles have been changed: Automatically Remove Attached Events and Send Notification at Callback Time.

Submit your Enhancement Requests to CA
CA and the PLC will soon be posting approved Enhancement Requests for voting. This voting helps to identify the enhancements to be included in the r13 release. If you have an idea for an enhancement, submit it to CA today and if approved it could be added to the candidate list. If you would like to be involved in the voting, all you have to do is join the Service Management PLC.

Available free from SDU are IE and Firefox plug-ins that allow you to search your Service Desk for tickets and CIs directly from your browser. Click here for details
